The World Hindu Economic Conference is being organized by the World Hindu Economic Forum. The primary theme of the Conference is to provide a framework for Hindus to be in the forefront of “Shaping the World Economy along with making Society Prosperous”. The global Hindu population is more than a billion strong, consisting of approximately one sixth of the world population. For the past thousand of years, Hindu society has sustained itself due to the previous efforts of prior generation of Hindus in creating a great surplus of wealth.

Economic historians have surmised that Hindu civilization  contributed 35% of the world economy from the 1st to 15th century Common Era  (CE); sharing of this wealth ensured a just and prosperous society. That prosperity was lost during the period of Islamic invasion, colonial rule and post Industrial Revolution. The world economy has changed a lot since the 1960s, with a greater emphasis on the creation of more open economic marketplace as well as transformations bought about by rapid technological advances that have led to greater interconnectivity of the world economy.

Individual Hindus have been able to take advantage of the situation by build vast business empires and becoming heads of many major corporations throughout the world. This impressive performance on individual basis has not translated to Hindu society on the whole making it prosperous.

Therefore, one of the primary goals of this conference is to provide a platform for the expertise and experience to be shared with a wide group of Hindus. The question is not only of financial capital alone, but also of bringing financially successful Hindus under one banner, which will lead to greater economic cooperation among Hindu entrepreneurs, creating the conditions necessary for the generation of surplus wealth.

“Success breeds Success” – the coming together of successful people will bring a positive energy and vision which will transform Hindu society.
